February Ipsy 2014 Review

February?! What happened to January?! Uhhhhh...well the short answer is life, which is why this post is in March. Last month was crazy busy for me and although my ipsy bag was a welcome little break from the craziness of finals, errands, and whatever else got thrown my way, January's Ipsy bag was sat on the desk and eventually attacked by a small dog who thought my lip balm smelled good--not that I could stay mad at that cute little face. Even though January's bag was a nice treat, in my opinion, it was kind of hard to review.I loved everything in my bag but the proactiv pad.

The total value was about $50 and it included: Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave in Conditioner, Proactiv + Mark Fading Pads (4total), Skiin Smoothing and Soothing Eye Cream, Elizabeth Motts Smooth Shadow Pencil in Penny, and Malin + Goetz Mojito Lip Balm. Anyways we are on to February now so let's get started!

I love February, it's my birthday month, it's a few of my friends birthday month, it's my boyfriend's birthday month, and there is Valentine's Day. Sticking with the love theme like predicted is ipsy's February glam bag "The Look of Love"

For those of you who aren't familiar with Ipsy it is a $10 monthly subscription service ($14.95/month in Canada) that sends out 4-5 full or deluxe sample beauty products a month ranging from drugstore to mid-end products. I have never seen a bag worth less than what you pay, so you definitely get your money's worth. If you want to join ipsy feel free to use my referral link HERE.

Zoya Nail Polish: $9 Everyone got a Zoya nail polish this month is either dot or Odette. I got Odette and I think it's a lovely color. Just like my other Zoya Polish it lasted ok on its own and with a top coat and base coat is lasts a really long time. It is one of my new favorites.

Pop beauty Pouty plumping Lip gloss: $8 So this one was a hit or miss depending on the person. I love it. I actually wore mine on Valentine's day, which is the day I left for my trip. The glossy part doesn't last all day but the color was only a little faded when I got to my hotel that evening. I didn't reapply throughout the day at all so I have to say I am really impressed.  I got the shade Peony Petal. The full size product is $16 but I would say we got a decent size sample.

Mally Beauty Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner: This is a full size product from Mally Beauty. It retails for $15. Everyone who received this was given the color Starlight. I have to say that this is a pretty impressive product. It lasts for a long time. I was actually undecided when I saw that I was getting this. On the one hand I have always wanted to try Mally beauty and on the other I REALLY didn't need another silver eyeliner. This one is actually significantly different from the Starlooks Topaz one I received in my November bag. It's creamer and has a more pearly finish instead of being glittery. It also wears longer than Starlooks Gem Pencils do.

Uberliss RituOil: Once again Ipsy, I don't like hair products. I have super greasy hair so it wasn't the best product. I did actually have a dry hair day this past month from heat styling, however, and it was a pretty good product to work with for that. This is obviously a sample size valued at $3.30. The full size of this product is $19.90.

Jesse's Girl 9 Pan Eyeshadow Compact: This was a full size product. It was sent out to some ipsy subscribers in all 4 colors available. I received the one called Behind Blue Eyes. It retails for $3.99. I have to say I wasn't too impressed with this one. The pigmentation isn't amazing. It's not bad eyeshadow if you want a sheer wash of color but it definitely isn't buttery like a Urban Decay eyeshadow or a Wet 'n' Wild. As a whole I wasn't too happy with this product.

So that was my bag for February. I had some great products and I have to say I think it was a good month for ipsy. My total bag value is $39.29. I hope you found my reviews helpful. March's review will be posted either next week or the week after.

xoxo
Courtney
